I specialize in helping clients focus and incorporate balance into their lives, then create the plans to achieve the success they have only dreamed about. You’ve heard me address this over and over. But I also have to strive to practice what I preach. It IS never-ending, though.
It dawned on me that after my Grand Canyon trip, and my husband was sick for almost two weeks afterward, that instead of doing something else on those days we would otherwise be out on the trail, I considered those days as ‘bonus’ work days, and just worked.
What was the result? They were the most UNPRODUCTIVE two weeks I’ve had in YEARS!
What does that tell me? Time to get back on that “balance” ball and take days off.
Why does it matter? Here are three reasons:
- Taking days off helps us regroup and clear the mind.
- Taking off helps us relax and regenerate our creativity.
- Taking time off helps us focus on what’s most important when we DO return to work.
What are YOU doing to take time off? If you don’t, I challenge you to give it a try!
