Lessons on branding
When I work with clients, I push them to determine who their ideal clients are and identify what it is about them that makes them unique. This is all part of branding.
In an article that John Quelch wrote (How Michael Jackson Became a Brand Idol Icon) he addresses branding.
Once you figure out who you are and who you want to attract, you then have to ‘show up’! Michael is not the only person who did this well: Madonna is another example of this. She was also good at another strategy, reinventing herself.
Now, you may not aspire to the fame that Michael Jackson (or Madonna) have had. And I doubt you want to achieve one of John’s other factors that helped Michael build his brand (die young), but I do challenge you to look at what lessons you CAN take from his article, today! Let us know what you come up with!
